RI GOVERNORS TROPHY – presented by Robin Wallace

        Awarded for best combined corrected finish in fleet, by a RI resident

        Wazimo – Barrett Holby 172:10 (in 2003 it was 179:26)

 

CITY OF NEWPORT TROPHY – presented by Mayor John Trifero

        Awarded for the best combined corrected finish in fleet

NEWPORT YACHT CLUB COMMODORE’S TRAY – presented by John Corbishley

        For best DH leg elapsed time finish in fleet

        Artforms – Kip Stone & Merf Owen (it was verified that Kip’s single handed time of 66:57 is a new         Bermuda 1-2 record; broke Erik Segal’s record of 67:48 in 1999)

        For best SH leg corrected time finish, by a first-time entrant

        1st – French Magic – JP Mouligne & Eric LeCoq – A very close match with the 2nd place boat!

        2nd – Loose Fish – John Niewenhous & Fred Boursier

        3rd – Gryphon - Walid Abuhaider & Peter Madew

        Class 2

        1st – Aggressive – Kristen Wenzel & Ray Renaud

        2nd – Palangi – David Sherman & Peter Maloney (same place as in 2003)

        3rd – Ariana – John Drozdal & Barry Sroka

        1st – Por Favor – Mark Morwood & Bob Salitsky

        2nd – Wazimo – Barrett Holby & George Varga (got a satellite phone for the 2nd leg but lost the antenna)

        3rd – Gore-Tex Fabrics –Rich Ellis & Jan Brandt (for those that don’t know, can’t be too many now, Rich decided to taste a winch on the SH leg and broke 4 front teeth)

        Awarded to the competitor who persisted and pursued against the greatest odds

        Rich Ellis on Gore-Tex Fabric for finishing 2nd in the SH leg after knocking 4 front teeth out

 

USN SEAMANSHIP TROPHY

        Awarded to the skipper demonstrating outstanding seamanship

        Topaz – Ted Robinson & Drew Wood for getting to land with a makeshift rig after getting dismasted.

 

CHARLES CARPENTER ‘BIERMIESTER’ TROPHY

        Last place corrected combined time finish
